How to get to Kumamoto
From Narita Airport: All the international flights arrive at Narita Airport (New Tokyo International Airport). There is only 1 domestic flight per day from Narita Airport to Fukuoka Airport. Instead, more than 30 flights per day to Fukuoka are available at Haneda Airport (Tokyo International Airport). The flight is about two hours From Narita Airport, you can take limousine bus to get Haneda Airport. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes and the fare is JPY 3,000.
From Haneda(Tokyo) Airport: Fukuoka and Kumamoto Airport is one hour and a half flight from Haneda. Nozomi Shinkansen Express (Japan Railways) also connects between Tokyo station and Hakata station by five hours.
From Kansai Airport: All the international flights arrive at Kansai International Airport. There are approximately 10 flights per day that include both domestic flights and connecting flights from Kansai Airport to Fukuoka Airport. The flight is about one hour. Nozomi Shinkansen Express (Japan Railways) also connects between Osaka (Shin-Osaka station) and Fukuoka (Hakata station) by two hours and a half.
From Fukuoka Airport: Participants from Asian and Oceanian countries may arrive at Fukuoka Airport and proceed to Kumamoto by highway bus (JPY2,000 / approx.120 min. Every 30-60 min. / 6:42 - 22:32.)
